Sight & Sound

  • Sight & Sound is a British monthly film magazine published by the British film Institute. It was founded in 1932.

  •  The magazine reviews all film releases each month, including art house releases, as opposed to most film magazines like Empire which concentrate on films with a general release.

  •  Sight & Sound features a full cast and crew credit list for each reviewed film.

  • Every decade, Sight & Sound asks an international group of film professionals to vote for their greatest film of all time. Critics are asked to provide a top ten list.

  • This survey is said to be one of the most influential and respected film surveys of all time.

This film magazine argualy influenced me the most as I read the april review article for Selma. I really like the classic design of this magazine as it is indivual but still widely read. It also has a long history of 83 years meaning it is prestigious and respected. I also really like the layout of the magazine even though it is conventional it gives alot of information about the film like for example the photo in the corner of the Selam article of the films director. these are things I want to incorporate ino my own article.
